20 years is a hell of a long time – especially in the IT industry, which is characterised by a high turnover of staff and fast pace. It is all the more remarkable that we at act’o-soft – in addition to Christoph’s anniversary – can congratulate three other employees on a total of 55 years with the company this year. This is terrific and shows once again that people are at the centre of act’o-soft, that personal family togetherness is close to our hearts and that, in addition to the exciting tasks that await us every day, we also have the opportunity to develop individually.
Through a classic job advertisement in the daily newspaper Neue Westfälische in May 2002, we were looking for a manager with experience in quality assurance and the development of software applications at that time.
Christoph discovered the ad, felt immediately addressed and sent off his application on the same day. A personal meeting followed and it quickly became clear: He fits us – both professionally and personally. About two months later, on 1 July 2002, Christoph started his career at act’o-soft.
But in the course of his professional career, the quality manager was not in the IT sector from the beginning. After graduating from high school, he first studied biology. As a graduate biologist, he worked for two years in the “biological environment” before he reoriented himself professionally and got to know and love the areas of software development and testing in a company with 200 employees. From there he moved to act’o-soft.
Today, Christoph is almost part of the inventory. As one of the first of the then ten employees at act’o-soft, he already knows the company from the early beginnings, still from the location in Werther and as well as hardly anyone else. Since then he has been a trainer and supporter for our software, a business analyst, a project coordinator, has conducted training courses and is now an integral part of the Quality Assurance team. He is a specialist in fiscal issues and has an incredible know-how regarding our product portfolio. Christoph has helped to write and experience the success story of act’o-soft. He will continue to contribute to the company’s success with his friendly nature and expertise.
By the way, when Christoph is not working on quality assurance, he likes to relax in his free time by hiking in nature or as an active choir member. He also loves the Cologne carnival, which we also benefit from every year when he provides us with plenty of kamelle.
And one thing is certain: nothing can shake him. True to the Cologne saying “Et kütt, wie et kütt”. (It comes, as it comes.)
